Our two little Granddaughters Izzy and Chloe have been attending the local school in Villars since January 2013. Brantome Police Horses were asked if the school could hold an Easter Egg Hunt for the children in the grounds of La Grange. We were only too pleased to be able to help out. It was an amazing sunny afternoon with high temperatures and clear blue skies. All the children arrived with their little baskets (panniers) to find the hidden chocolate eggs. First of all they played games on the lawns and then at 3 o'clock the egg hunt began. The eggs had been hidden around the stable yard and grounds. The horses all looked on with amused faces as all the children excitedly ran through the yard looking for the hidden eggs. After all the eggs were found, the children enjoyed the company of the horses with lots of patting and hugging. The donkeys, goats and sheep also had their fair share of attention. Brantome Police Horses gave over a cheque to the School Association for 300 euros - This was money made at the Christmas Fair last December from children visiting Papa Noel (Father Christmas). We were told that the money will be used for children to be able to go on a two day stay to a local nature reserve in May, which makes everything worthwhile to know that there will be some children's families that will benefit from this. After all the excitement, wonderful cupcakes made by Debbie were washed down with cold drinks.
A lovely afternoon was had by all and hopefully we can repeat it again next year. To see pictures please click this link - Local Schools Easter Egg Hunt
