A very busy week

Alison Phillips

We have had a very busy week and met some lovely people, old friends and made new ones.

Friday Night - 29th May     A Night With Je Dis Jazz

We welcomed back Je Dis Jazz on Friday night and what a night it was.  Warm and sunny thank goodness.  We thank everyone who booked to come, all were in high spirits and the band got everyone up and dancing.  The pictures say it all.

On Wednesday 27th we held our first big Open Afternoon of the season and welcomed nearly 80 people to La Grange.  It was a beautiful hot and sunny afternoon.  Half term in the UK meant that a lot of British people were in the are on holiday and heard about us through relatives or thank goodness on Trip Advisor.  Roland welcomed everyone and gave his multi media presentation in our Chart Gallery, which was a big hit. The horses were all in their stables including Guardian and Clifton who usually don't like to come in, but that day were quite welcoming to their admiring visitors.  Lewis and Johnny were of course a big hit and so was Kingston.  The donkeys got their full share of pats and hugs from all the children.  Then it was tea on the lawn under one of our marquees.  The scones, cakes (to include Death by Chocolate, Real cream and strawberry sponge,  lemon drizzle and last but not least Coffee and Walnut.  We also managed vegan scones and chocolate cake.  Everyone seemed to love the cakes.  Thank you to everyone who came and also thank you to people who spent in the shop and sponsored their favourite horse or donkeys.

We will do it all again this Wednesday.
