Northavon, a dark bay Dutch Warm Blood Thoroughbred gelding, was born on the 27th April 1988 and stands at 16.3 hands.
He was retired to us on the 20th September 1999, from the Avon and Somerset Police Force UK, with navicular and breathing problems, both a result of working on roads and pavements in heavy traffic.
He was the most expensive horse that the Police had ever paid for, costing £6,000 back in 1992.
His spends most of his time with his friend Matthew, with whom he has a very special bond. After previously working together, they met again following two years apart, when Matthew was retired to the Sanctuary. It was a very touching moment to see these two lovely horses greeting each other again with such joy.
